I am very interested in tea pots, and over the years, have collected many in different styles, from Yixing beauties to Jarred Jaffee's organic pieces.  After making coil plates and experimenting with terracotta clay, I decided that paper clay was the most expressive medium for how I want to work with tea pots.  This medium is perfect for attaching spouts and handles, as well as  spikes and delicate stoppers, all forms that interest me.  I use a set traditional form, the teapot, and try to play with it by manipulating the surface with texture and pattern, and adding elements like spikes that project from the surface.  The glazes are sprayed on, and in my latest pieces, I mix the glazes myself.
